It lives in families led by the oldest female, remembers its paths and friends for years and looks after the young of the whole herd.<\/p>\n<h2>A symbol in different cultures<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>In India Ganesha \u2013 the elephant-headed god \u2013 removes obstacles and brings success in new ventures. That is why he is honoured at the start of every new undertaking.<\/li>\n<li>In Thailand the white elephant is sacred and a symbol of royal power.<\/li>\n<li>In Buddhism the white elephant is a sign of wisdom and strength of spirit.<\/li>\n<li>In feng shui the elephant brings stability, protection and prosperity to the home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Trunk up<\/h2>\n<p>A little elephant with a raised trunk is the most popular lucky talisman. It is believed to \"catch\" luck and scatter it all around. The little elephant is also a talisman for athletes, because it gives confidence and strength, and for women in leadership \u2013 for the wisdom and care of the matriarch who leads the herd.<\/p>\n<h2>The elephant in jewellery<\/h2>\n<p>In jewellery little elephants are always sweet and beautiful \u2013 pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings, in silver and gold tones, with crystals and cubic zirconia.
